CHICAGO (WLS) -- The number of Chicago adults lighting up is at an all-time low.

New numbers from the Centers for Disease Control show 17.7 percent of adults smoke.

That same survey from three years ago reported a smoking rate of 22.6 percent - that's down nearly five percent.

Earlier this year, new numbers showed the smoking rate among kids was down more than 20 percent since 2011.
