CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are looking for a driver who allegedly hit and killed a man, then fled the scene in the city's West Side.

Jonathan Alexander, 50, was crossing the street about 12:45 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Congress, when he was struck by a light-colored vehicle traveling westbound, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy performed Saturday found Alexander died of blunt trauma to the head and his death was ruled an accident.

Witnesses say the car was a four-door sedan.

No one is in custody and the police Major Accidents Investigations Unit is investigating.
