CHICAGO (WLS) -- It can be hard for young athletes to keep up with both sports and community service, but a big surprise will make it easier for one Chicago Public Schools student to get around.

Juan Ramirez was presented with a 2017 Jeep Renegade in front of his classmates at Washington High School for "making a difference on and off the field." That is the name of a campaign that engages thousands of local students in community service.

Juan is a soccer player who has also volunteered to help senior citizens, homeless people, elementary students and women's domestic abuse shelters.

"It really helped me notice there are a lot of people out there that need a lot of help and I'm one person that can change that,"

Juan said he just got his driver's permit two days ago.
