SC man mowing grass struck, killed in Manhattan hit-and-run

Police are investigating the hit-and-run death of a 68-year-old man who was struck and killed by a car while he was cutting grass along the 23000 block of Route 52 in far south suburban Manhattan Township on Sunday afternoon.

He has been identified as Thomas Knepper of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. State Police Districts 5 and 21 are investigating.

Knepper was struck just after 1 p.m. near Cherry Hill Rd., the Will County Coroner's Office said.
