Police: 2 killed in Lockport head-on crash

LOCKPORT, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people were killed in a crash that involved two trucks in Lockport Friday morning.

Police said the crash involved a Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck and a Kenworth Truck at about 8:11 a.m. on Route 171 and Dell Park Avenue.

The Chevy was traveling in the northbound lanes when it crossed over into the southbound lanes and crashed into the truck head-on.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified by police as 23-year-old Juan Huerta-Hernandez, and his passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The identity of the passenger has not been released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruct Team.
