Irving Park man charged in Austin double murder

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Jose Ortiz, 31, of Irving Park is charged with two counts of first degree murder for the shooting deaths of two men in Chicago's Austin neighborhood in 2015, police say.

Police say Ortiz shot and killed two men driving in the 0-100-block of South Mayfield on June 7, 2015. Ortiz allegedly pulled up alongside the victims and fired shots at their car. Both victims were taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition where they died.

Ortiz is due in Bond Court Sunday.
