NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Naperville police are searching for robbery suspects who threatened store employees with a needle they claimed was infected with HIV.
Two suspects committed the bizarre robbery at a CVS before 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15.
Police commander Jason Arres said workers noticed the suspects trying to steal medications and approached them.
"When the store employees confronted these two individuals, the male subject actually pulled out a hypodermic needle that he alleged to be infected with HIV," Arres said.
Police said the needle was brandished by the male suspect who they believe is in his 50s, and who was wearing dark clothing. His accomplice is a woman believed to be in her 40s, police said.
Police don't' know where the duo got the needle, or if it was actually infected.
"No one was injured, no one was stabbed with the needle. Again, it was just a threat made to the store employees," Arres said.
If you have any information on the suspects in the surveillance images, contact Naperville police.
