CHICAGO (WLS) -- A CTA bus driver was injured Saturday evening by shattered glass from his windshield after an apparent gunshot in the Roseland neighborhood on the South Side, officials said.

The driver sustained a welt on his arm when the glass shattered near 94th Street and Lafayette, the road that runs parallel to the Dan Ryan Expressway, police said. The bus was a block from its stop.

A bullet did not penetrate the driver's arm, and police said Saturday evening that they are not certain that a bullet broke the glass.

The driver is in good condition at Little Company of Mary Hospital.
