CHICAGO -- A man was stabbed and critically wounded by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend Monday morning in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.

Officers responding to the 4600 block of North Drake at 5:27 a.m. found the 25-year-old man lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds, according to Chicago Police.

He had been walking outside when he was approached by a male - someone he knows - who stabbed him several times before running away, police said.

The man was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

A police source said the stabbing may be domestic-related, and that police suspect the ex-boyfriend of the man's girlfriend in the attack.
