WHEATON, Ill. (WLS) -- Trains on Metra's UP-West Line are on the move with "extensive delays" after a train fatally struck a person on the tracks Tuesday evening.
About 6:30 p.m., UP/West train no. 55 fatally struck a person between the Wheaton and Winfield stations, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.
The person's age and gender were not immediately known.
Trains were stopped for about 90 minutes, but began moving again about 8 p.m. with some delays, Miller added.
