7 hospitalized after hazmat situation at South Elgin dentist

SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A hazardous materials spill at a dentist office in South Elgin sparked an emergency response Monday morning.

Fire district officials were called to Dental Care of South Elgin at about 11 a.m. after chloroform, mixed with a bleach cleaning solution, spilled

Eight people were overcome with fumes.

All but one were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No word yet on what caused that spill.
