Home intruder escorted out by Elmhurst homeowner

ELMHURST, Ill. -- Police in the western suburbs are investigating a Monday morning home invasion.

An intruder entered the home this morning in the 200-block of North Indiana in suburban Elmhurst, police say. The man told the resident that he thought he was at a friend's house. The homeowner was able to escort the intruder out of the home and call police.

The suspect is described as a male Caucasian, 5-11 with a thin build. He has a black ponytail and tattoos on his arms and neck.
