Boy with autism duct taped to pole by teammates, mom says

PITTSBURGH -- Pennsylvania police are investigating after the mother of a high school student with autism said her son was duct taped to a goal post as part of a hazing ritual.

Police near Pittsburgh called Kristie Babinsack saying her 16-year-old son, Austin, was found taped to a soccer goal post.

He's a member of his high school's soccer team and his mom thinks that this was hazing from other teammates.

"He was shaking and he was upset. I couldn't believe it. If it's the only thing I do out of this, it is to show everybody that it's not going to happen again in this town. Not as long as I'm here. Not to my kids and not to anybody else's kids," Babinsack said.

Austin was taped to the post for about 20 minutes until someone passing by helped him.

Police say two senior soccer players, both 17 years old, could now face charges. The school district suspended the two players and their coach for at least five days.
