FOREST PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- Normal service on the CTA Blue Line has resumed following a "minor derailment" that disrupted service for several hours Friday between Harlem/Congress and Forest Park.

A westbound Blue Line train derailed as it was pulling into the Forest Park station around 11 a.m. The CTA said the front two cars slipped off the tracks. No one was injured.

The train cars were moved out of the Forest Park station around 2 p.m., and normal service resumed during the Friday evening rush hour.

Shuttle buses were initially used, then later, a shuttle train on the unaffected eastbound tracks shuttled passengers between Harlem and Forest Park.

The CTA is investigating the cause of the derailment.

Around 3,000 passengers on an average weekday use the Forest Park station to travel downtown.
