OAK BROOK, Ill. (WLS) -- Dick Portillo didn't know how to cook when he opened his first hotdog stand, but he built it into a restaurant empire. The Daily Herald's Anna Kukec talked at length with the former owner of Oak Brook-based Portillo's, who says his success is all based on what he's learned since he grew up in Chicago, became a Marine, and moved with his bride to Villa Park.
