Driver found sleeping in Madera drive-thru, arrested for DUI
Authorities say they didn't need a checkpoint to nab a suspected drunk driver.

FRESNO, Calif. -- Authorities say they didn't need a checkpoint to nab a suspected drunk driver. Phillip Rodriguez was arrested outside a fast-food restaurant in Madera overnight.

Police say he cruised through the drive-thru lane twice. Officers recorded video of Rodriguez after he fell asleep in his car in the drive-thru lane and could not be woken up.

He also had a tough time walking a straight line. A test revealed Rodriguez had a blood-alcohol level of 0.16.
