Man on trial for murder tackled after sprinting out of courtroom

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man on trial for murder sprinted out of a Cook County courtroom Friday before being tackled to the ground.

Deshawn Johnson is on trial for an armed robbery that turned deadly. Prosecutors said Johnson robbed an employee at a Chinese restaurant then shot him to death.

In court on Friday, Johnson suddenly bolted for the door.

A state's attorney jumped on top of him just outside the courtroom, and several sheriff's deputies joined in the struggle to take Johnson back into custody.
