New app tracks money owed by state

If the State of Illinois owes you or your business or organization money, you can now track the money using a new mobile app.

Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka unveiled her office's new "ILPays" mobile application on Tuesday. It offers taxpayer and vendor payment information.

Topinka says the mobile app is designed to offer transparency about the state's financial information and daily backlog of bills.

The ILPays app is for Apple iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded for free from Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
