ORLANDO, Fla. (WLS) -- Orlando wants to turn the site of the Pulse Nightclub shooting into a permanent memorial.
Flowers and candles still line the gate out front just a few feet away from where 49 people were killed.
Tributes to the victims left at the site are being preserved.
Pulse recently created a non-profit charity to fund the construction of a memorial.
Some hoping to one day return to something more than just the front of the building.
A benefit concert will be held in California on august 19.
Details regarding performers are still being worked out.
