CHICAGO (WLS) -- A new Pete's Fresh Market location has opened in the city's near West Side.
"Today you have 150 good paying jobs in the neighborhood, a grocery store people can feel is their own, and it anchors the community," said Mayor Rahm Emanuel at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the store.
The 68,000 square-foot store, located at Madison and Western in East Garfield Park, opened to the public Wednesday morning.
The store cost more than $18 million to build.
