CHICAGO (WLS) -- Ald. Joe Moreno's office in the city's First Ward served as a temporary home for two unclaimed chickens found in the city's Logan Square neighborhood Wednesday.

The chickens - named Chuck and Penny by the alderman's office - were found running in an alley and ducking in people's back yards in the 2700-block of West Haddon, a spokesperson for Ald. Moreno said.

They were caught by a resident and brought to Ald. Moreno's office, where they enjoyed veggie snacks while awaiting a transfer to their new home:

They will now reside at Earth First, a no-kill farm in southwest Michigan.
