The chickens - named Chuck and Penny by the alderman's office - were found running in an alley and ducking in people's back yards in the 2700-block of West Haddon, a spokesperson for Ald. Moreno said.
They were caught by a resident and brought to Ald. Moreno's office, where they enjoyed veggie snacks while awaiting a transfer to their new home:
So someone just dropped chickens off to our office. This should be interesting. Does anyone want them? pic.twitter.com/Z6vBfoxeTD— Alderman Joe Moreno (@Alderman_Moreno) March 25, 2015
Any name suggestions? I've been feeding them veggies, they were left here, found loose in logan square. pic.twitter.com/AVRzWI3QBT— Alderman Joe Moreno (@Alderman_Moreno) March 25, 2015
They will now reside at Earth First, a no-kill farm in southwest Michigan.
