Former Porter County detective charged with possessing child pornography

HEBRON, Ind. (WLS) -- A former detective with the Porter County Sheriff's Office was charged with possession of child pornography, the sheriff's office said Monday.

Roger Dale Bowles, 56, of Hebron, Ind., turned himself in Saturday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He has been charged with possession of child pornography. An anonymous tipster reported Bowles to authorities, the sheriff's office said.

Bowles was an officer from 2000 to 2017. He resigned May 31, 2017.
