
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 16-year-old girl was shot and seriously injured early Tuesday morning on Chicago's South Side, Chicago police said.
The girl was in a yard behind a home in the 7400-block of South Dante Avenue in the city's Grand Crossing neighborhood just after 1:30 a.m., when someone who was in a gray SUV shot her, police said.
The SUV then drove away, CPD said.
The girl was shot in each leg, and taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.
There is no one in custody, and Area One detectives are investigating.
A 17-year-old was shot in Englewood less than 30 minutes later, police said.
