Pedestrian fatally struck by car while trying to cross Kennedy Expressway on Northwest Side: ISP

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Sunday morning while trying to cross the Kennedy Expressway on Chicago's Northwest Side, Illinois State Police said.

ISP said the crash happened around 9:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-90 near North Nagle Avenue.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead, police said. Information about the victim's identity was not immediately available.

So far, there's no word on any citations against the driver involved.

ISP did not immediately provide further information.
