Real-life 'Forrest Gump' running across America for charity

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Rob Pope is on an incredible journey to help raise money and awareness for Peace Direct and the World Wildlife Fund. He is on his third run across America.

He stopped in Chicago on his way to the West Coast after visiting major cities on the East Coast.

Rob said he is super excited about being in Chicago as it is the city he has most wanted to visit in the U.S.
