Rifle stolen from police vehicle at Northwest Side hospital, authorities say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A rifle was stolen from a police vehicle in Chicago's Portage Park neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers responded to a call at Community First Medical Center near West Addison Street and North Central Avenue around 5:15 a.m. Friday.

Police said when the officers got back to their vehicle, they saw someone had broken in. A rifle was missing.

Authorities did not release further details.
