All southbound lanes on Bishop Ford closed after pedestrian struck, killed

CHICAGO (WLS) -- All southbound lanes are closed on the Bishop Ford Expressway after a man was struck and killed Saturday morning.

Illinois State Police said the pedestrian was struck near 115th Street at approximately 5 a.m. by a 60-year-old male driver. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver said they were driving south when the pedestrian stepped in front of them. It is currently unclear why the man was on the roadway.

No other injuries have been reported.

Traffic has been diverted to 111th Street, according to Illinois State Police.

The circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation, officials said.
