In the wake of Robin Williams' death at the age of 63, there's been an outpouring of grief and mourning across the world for one of humanity's most cherished actors and comedians.

But even though he would commonly be seen with a goofy face or making a funny gesture, Williams' life wasn't always so funny. The actor often struggled with addiction, and his commentary on the subject reveals a very deep, introspective side to the comedian.

In this interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation from 2010, Williams speaks candidly about his own struggles with addiction and his career in stand-up comedy. You can watch the 13-minute interview below.
