Target announces new Hyde Park store

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Target has announced plans for a new store in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhoods, to open in late 2016 or early 2017.

The new flexible-format store will be the fifth in the city and will be located at a new mixed-used development called Vue53 near the intersection of 53rd Street and Kimbark Avenue.

The approximately 21,000 square foot store will be tailored for the needs to of the neighborhood, including University of Chicago students, and Target says the store will "reflect a wellness emphasis, particularly in food, beauty and cleaning products." It will also include a pharmacy, Target Mobile and Order pickup.
