Bunny Rock 5K and egg hunt returns to Grant Park
The fifth annual Bunny Rock Chicago 5K Run/Walk & Easter Egg Hunt benefiting Red Door Animal Shelter is at Grant Park.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Bunny ears are the fashion accessory of the day for the fifth annual Bunny Rock Chicago 5K Run/Walk & Easter Egg Hunt.

This exciting kick-off to spring provides healthy fun and entertainment for the entire family. All 5K race participants receive bunny ears, neon sunglasses and a Dri-Fit Unisex Bunny Rock t-shirt to wear throughout the course. The festivities include '80s rock music filling the air at the start and finish line at Grant Park's Upper Hutchison Field near Balbo and Columbus Drive. The 5K course itself will run alongside Chicago's beautiful lakefront.

After the race, children hunt for more than 3,000 candy-filled eggs. There's even a petting zoo and an opportunity to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. This year's race benefits the Red Door Animal Shelter.

Matt Paradise of Adrenaline Sports Managementand Julie Dorian from the Red Door Animal Shelter spoke with ABC 7 live from the starting line.
