CHICAGO (WLS) -- A team effort is bringing comfort to people in a Chicago homeless shelter.

Some students made a surprise delivery to Franciscan House and Annex.

Kids from 120 area high schools collected more than 3,100 pairs of socks in partnership with Buddy's Helpers.

They brought them to the shelter on Tuesday, along with a check for $1,000.
