ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- Some very giving students in the suburbs raised money to help build a home for an Army veteran.

Army Specialist Tony Chobanov was presented with a check today at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights.

District 214 students spent more than a month raising $16,000 to help Chobanov with his home. The high school district serves Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Des Plaines, Elk Grove, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows and Wheeling.
