Bears reach one-year deal with ex-Rams center Coleman Shelton

The Chicago Bears agreed to a one-year contract with center Coleman Shelton, the team announced Thursday.

He becomes the second center added by the Bears this offseason after they acquired Ryan Bates in a trade with the Buffalo Billson March 4.

Shelton, a former undrafted free agent, had been the Los Angeles Rams' starting center for the past two seasons, including all 17 games in 2023.

He was the 16th-ranked center last season, according to Pro Football Focus.

Shelton, 28, signed with the Rams in 2019 after spending his rookie season on the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad. In five seasons, he has played in 73 regular-season games, including 32 starts.
