Buccaneers claim Texans safety D.J. Swearinger off waivers

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Buccaneershave claimed safety D.J. Swearinger off waivers from the Houston Texans.

Swearinger likely will get a chance at a starting safety job along with Bradley McDougald, Major Wright and Chris Conte.

The team also said Tuesday it had claimed linebacker Khaseem Greene off waivers from Chicago. Greene likely will have a chance to be a backup linebacker and a regular on special teams.

The Bucs also announced the signings of three draft picks -- fourth-round linebacker Kwon Alexander, fifth-round receiver Kenny Bell and seventh-round fullback Joey Iosefa.

The Bucs also waived safety M.D. Jennings, who had signed with the team earlier in the offseason.
