Target announces upcoming store closures

MINNEAPOLIS (WLS) -- Target Corporation announced Tuesday that it will close 11 locations on Feb. 1, 2015, including two in Illinois.

The store at 1860 N. Richmond Road in McHenry and the store at 1717 E. West Road in Calumet City will both close. The other nine closing locations are in Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota and Texas.

Target said in a statement that employees of the affected stores will be offered the option to transfer to a different Target location, and any employees who choose not to be transferred will be offered a separation package.
