City estimates 1.4 million visited 2016 Taste of Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The city of Chicago estimates 1.4 million people visited the Taste of Chicago this year.

The 36th edition of the food festival ran in Grant Park from July 6-10 and featured 67 restaurants.

The Taste also featured musical performances by The Roots, The Decembrists, Billy Idol, The Isley Brothers and more.

On Saturday, Eli's Cheesecake celebrated its birthday at the Taste by giving guests a free slice of a giant birthday cheesecake, which they say weighs 1,500 pounds.
