Two toddlers found abandoned at Bay Shore mall

BAY SHORE, N.Y. -- Police in Suffolk County are searching for the parents or caregivers for two toddlers who were found abandoned at a Bay Shore mall.

Police found a girl and boy, both approximately 3 or 4 years old that were playing alone at the Westfield South Shore mall Wednesday around 2 p.m.

The children, who may be cousins, were found at the south end of the mall near JC Penny and Panera Bread.

The girl, whose name may be Abby, is described as black and was wearing a blue and purple Dora the Explorer knit hat, a black Nike jacket with pink lining, blue jeans and tan-color

The girl, whose name may be Abby, is described as black and was wearing a blue and purple Dora the Explorer knit hat, a black Nike jacket with pink lining, blue jeans and tan-colored boots with hearts.

The boy, whose name may be Tyler, is described as black and was wearing a red knit cap, a dark-colored jacket with a Montreal patch on the left sleeve.

The boy, whose name may be Tyler, is described as black and was wearing a red knit cap, a dark-colored jacket with a Montreal patch on the left sleeve, a grey and neon orange sweatshirt and black and white Puma sneakers.

Detectives ask anyone who can identify or locate the children's relatives to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
