Jason Knowles and the I-Team have these quick tips for traveling with checked baggage.
In a recent case, one woman's luggage was returned to her burned, torn and in a garbage bag.
First of all, avoid damage to your luggage by taking off any extra straps so they don't get snagged and caught in conveyor belts.
Second, take a fast smartphone video of your clothes and items in your checked luggage as your packing to make it easier to make a claim on damaged or lost items.
Third, avoid checking expensive items like perfume which may not be covered under airline policies. Also, plus read those policies before you pack.
