WASHINGTON -- Next time you're trying to get through airport security quickly, you might want to double check you're not leaving any cash behind.
It turns out that travelers were in such a rush to get to their flights last year that they left more than $638,000 in change behind at airport checkpoints.
It's usually left in those small, round bins you send through the x-ray machine.
So what happens to all that money?
Federal law says the TSA gets to keep it and can spend it on anything the agency determines will help with airplane security.
