Market worker arrested for allegedly slapping 5-year-old

CARY, NC -- Cary police arrested a man after they said he slapped a 5-year-old.

The suspect, Nagi Guruguntla Reddy, 59, was charged with assault on a child under 12.

Police said the child tried to engage Reddy, who works at Triangle Indian Market on Chatham Street. Reddy didn't respond, so the child kicked him and then was slapped by Reddy, according to authorities,

Reddy was placed under a $1,000 bond.
