CHICAGO (WLS) -- Tulsha Booysen, a recent Cape Town high school student, can be an inspiration to other young designers to dream big.
She won Nando Peri-Peri's recent design contest to create a huge light installation crafted by 6,800 repurposed aluminum cans.
The chandelier is installed at Nando's new Chicago flagship location, at 155 N. Michigan Ave. Titled, "CanBeam Chandelier", the installation is suspended over the main stairwell at the new Nando's and is visible from Michigan Avenue.
Nando's displays original works from more than 300 artists. In the U.S. alone, there are more than 865 pieces of original South African art in Nando's restaurants.
The Nando's flagship on North Michigan Avenue is the 12th location in Chicagoland. The restaurant is slated to open on Monday, September 4.
