HOUSTON, Texas -- Jonathan Johnsons symptoms started appearing in the spring of his junior year at Aldine ISD's Eisenhower High School. He experienced tunnel vision, seizures, mood swings, and more.
The reason?
Doctors discovered a massive tumor in his brain in September 2020. Jonathan was forced to spend two months at Texas Children's Hospital, but his commitment to education never wavered.
Jonathan insisted on doing school work from his hospital bed and finished eighth out of 500 students in Eisenhower's Class of 2021.
Johnson says his desire to do well in school comes from the values his mother instilled in him, and he's excited to attend The University of Houston this fall.
