SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- State lawmakers gave final approval Wednesday to legislation that grants amnesty to underage drinkers who call 911 for help.

The law provides legal protection to the person in need of medical help and the person who called on their behalf.

The measure now goes to Gov. Bruce Rauner for consideration.
