DEERFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- Walgreens may have decided to keep its headquarters in the United States, according to published reports Tuesday night. An official announcement is expected Wednesday morning.
The Deerfield-based company had reportedly been considering an overseas address for its headquarters and could have dodged millions in U.S. taxes.
"I think Walgreens was listening to its customers. If they decide to stay, they decide that customer loyalty is lot more important," said Sen. Dick Durbin.
Sen. Durbin says he wants tax code reform to keep American companies from going overseas.
