Tornado touchdowns reported in Livingston Co.
CHICAGO (WLS) -- At least two tornado touchdowns were reported in Livingston County as severe storms ripped through the Chicago area on Tuesday.
Law enforcement officials reported two brief tornado touchdowns near Cornell around 4:30 p.m. and near Pontiac around 5 p.m. National Weather Service teams will survey the area to confirm if any tornadoes touched down.
Livingston County Emergency Management spokesperson Charles Schopp said there are no reports of any damage from the storms in Cornell or Pontiac. He said the area is very rural.
Funnel clouds were spotted Tuesday afternoon in several areas, including Streator and Lexington, which is near Pontiac.

The south and western suburbs were hit hard by Tuesday night's storms. A house fire in Darien was likely caused by lightning. No one was injured, but the attic and second floor of the home suffered significant damage.
A number of communities southwest of Chicago heard tornado sirens after the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for Will County around 7:15 p.m. The storm weakened and the warning was allowed to expire early.
Will County Emergency Management Director Will Damron said some communities including Joliet, Lemont, Romeoville and Homer Glen activated their outdoor sirens as a warning to residents. Damron said there have been no reports of any tornadoes or heavy flooding.
Just after 8 p.m., a severe thunderstorm prompted a Tornado Warning for DuPage County. Emergency management officials said that no tornadoes or storm damage have been reported in DuPage County so far.
If you are in the path of a severe storm, take cover immediately in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. If you are outdoors or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
STORMS DELAY CUBS GAME, FLIGHTS
Tuesday night's Cubs vs. Tigers game at Wrigley Field was delayed in the bottom of the third inning by a line of severe thunderstorms that moved through the Chicago area.
The FAA website reported flights at O'Hare International Airport may be delayed up to an hour due to thunderstorms on Tuesday night.
ComEd said that 14,000 customers are without power across the Chicago area as of 9 p.m.
The Illinois State Police said they have no reports of any area roadways being flooded.
