CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 12-year-old boy was killed in a shooting on Chicago's South Side on Sunday evening, police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the Englewood neighborhood on South Lowe Avenue near West Marquette Road around 6:30 p.m.

The Chicago Police Department held a press conference after a child was shot to death on South Side on Sunday.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired and found the child, who had suffered a gunshot wound, in the middle of the block. That child was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Video of the scene shows investigators searching for shell casing and gathering any possible evidence.

Now, CPD and community leaders say they need the public's help in solving this case. There's a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

"We should be outraged, all hands and heart on deck as we go to bed," said Ald. William Hall.

Police said if you have a tip or information, you can provide it anonymously. So far, police say, no one is custody.
