Blue Line station reopens after Thompson Ctr. flooding

A cap on a water pipe broke near the door of the building, causing minor flooding in the lobby near the CTA station at Clark and Lake.

The cap may have broken because it froze. CTA crews and Chicago firefighters cleaned up the mess. But some Blue Line subway trains had to bypass the stop for about two hours.

The government offices in the building were closed for the holiday.
