Outdoor activities on the decline, study says

A new study finds people are not visiting outdoor parks as much as they use to. According to the National Academy of Sciences, camping, fishing and other nature-based recreation is down about 18-to-25 percent from the 1980s.

Researchers worry that outdoor activity is continuing to be replaced by video games and television. They say a sedentary lifestyle has far reaching consequences for physical and mental health, especially in children.
