Chicagoans celebrate Pulaski Day

Many people have today off because it's Pulaski Day. In honor of the state holiday, there was a celebration of Polish heritage and culture. Traditional music, dance, costumes and Polish food were in abundance at Navy Pier Sunday.

Chicago is home to the largest Polish population outside of Warsaw.

Illinois celebrates Pulaski Day to honor Casmir Pulaski -- a revolutionary war hero and founder of the American cavalry.

Chicago's Public Schools are closed today. Suburban and catholic school closings vary.

Chicago public libraries are closed while many in the suburbs are open.

Many county courts will be closed but federal and state courts will be open.

If you drive downtown today, parking meters must be fed.
