Man charged with beating death of teenager

CHICAGO Nathaniel Tucker, 23, appeared in court on Tuesday. He's charged with first-degree murder.

Police said Tucker beat 18-year-old Albert Vaughn with a bat after a party Saturday night in the Englewood neighborhood. Vaughn, who attended Julian High School, died later at a hospital.

Tucker was arrested after a police chase less than a block from the scene. He is due back in court April 24th.

Illinois Department of Correction records show Tucker is on parole for a 2005 conviction for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He was sentenced to three years in prison in that case, and his parole was scheduled to end in June 2009.
